SEND's
Radio Ministry, The Northern Light Network
SEND,
International, operates two Christian Radio
Stations in Alaska, KCAM in Glennallen and KRSA
in Petersburg. Though in concept, they contain
similar programming, these two stations serve
different people in different parts of this
large state. Petersburg is an island fishing
community, while Glennallen is a crossroads for
Alaska's interior Copper River Valley.
Glennallen is positioned to broadcast to the
smaller villages throughout Alaska's interior.
Petersburg and it's repeaters in Sitka, Haines
and Wrangell, serve the fishing and logging
communities in Alaska's Southeast panhandle.
Corey will be
joining the Northern Light Network as a
broadcast engineer, assisting with the technical
needs of the stations. Currently, Corey is a
network engineer for an IT consulting firm. This
shortens the amount of time needed for training
as much of the current equipment is
computerized. Corey will be joining Scott Hill,
who is currently the only broadcast
engineer for the NLN. The NLN is seeking to
expand the radio ministry to reach more remote
villages as part of the 100+ "A voice in every
village" campaign. See the need section for more
information about the need for more missionaries
in this area. |
